Inacceptable!/Unacceptable!
Je trouve ridicule et inacceptable la décision du directeur général d’Élections-Canada d’accepter que les femmes puissent se présenter pour aller voter en portant le niqab. Le niqab est le long voile noire qui laisse seulement paraître les yeux; bref c’est le dernier arrêt avant la burqa.
J’ai déjà dit que je n’avait rien contre un simple voile mais que j’ai en horreur la burqa, le tchador et le niqab. Ces trois habits représentent la soumission de la femme à l’homme et à la religion et ne devraient pas être cautionnés par le gouvernement fédéral.
J’espère que le DG d’Élections-Canada va revenir au plus vite sur sa décision./
I find the decision of the general director of Elections-Canada to permit access to polling booth on election day to women wearing the niqab to be unacceptable and ridiculous. The niqab is the long black veil that has only one slit over the eyes; it’s the last stop before the burqa.
In other posts I’ve already said that I have nothing against the veil, but I do have a problem with the burqa, chador and niqab because it represents women’s submission to men and religion. It shouldn’t be embraced by the govt. of Canada.
I hope that the director of Elections-Canada will change his mind.
